Founded in 1964 with five employees, Certified Air Conditioning initially focused on performing warranty work and HVAC service calls. At the request of loyal clients, the company started designing system modifications and upgrades, and continued to grow in both size and reputation.
By the early ‘70’s, Certified Air Conditioning had grown to more than 30 field and office staff. The company had expanded to include a full service division, fabrication shop, and performed its own welding and pipe bending.
Recognizing the need for formal, curriculum based practical training, Certified Air Conditioning joined the Associated Builders and Contractors in San Diego, to help develop a local, non-union apprenticeship training program for sheet metal workers.
Due to our extensive design/build background in the private sector, we were able to bid on more federal prevailing wage work, and especially the military’s new design/build delivery system. And, with more than 200 service/maintenance accounts, we continue to be one of San Diego’s most experienced HVAC service and maintenance providers,
Throughout the past decade, Certified Air Conditioning has grown to become a specialist in NAVFAC work, and has helped to design and build HVAC systems for some of the most sophisticated military projects in Southern California. In addition, we’ve completed extensive public works projects in other areas, including Homeland Security, the Veterans Administration, higher education, K-12 schools and fire stations. Our work in the private sector includes offices, retail, restaurant, automotive and more.
